The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has decided to forcibly seize 1,592 railcars belonging to Russian companies. These assets will be transferred to the Ukrainian state.
The document states that the confiscation is carried out to mobilize Ukraine's financial resources and prevent Russia from accessing economic assets that could be used to finance the war.
The decision was initiated by JSC Ukrzaliznytsia.
Among the companies whose cars are subject to confiscation are VEB-Leasing, VEB.RF, Gazpromtrans, Financebusinessgroup, Transcontainer, Nord, Organic Synthesis, State Transport Leasing Company, Obldorsnab and others.
